Five Easy Ways to Bid at a Spink Shreves Auction

SIMPLICITY. It's the guiding principle of bidding at auction with Spink Shreves. You can bid by mail on the bidsheet provided in the catalog, by fax on the bidsheet provided to either our Dallas or New York city offices, via email with our electronic bidsheet provided here, bid interactively at StampAuctionNetwork and finally, call us toll-free and place your bids personally with one of our helpful staff members. Whichever method you choose, you can bid with complete confidence because bidding rules are designed to protect you, the bidder.

When you place your bid prior to the sale, your highest bid will never be used unless other bidders drive the sale price to that level. Your bid will be reduced to one raise over the second highest bid received. For example, if you bid $1000 on a lot, and the second highest mail bid received is $700, your bid on the auction floor will begin at $725. If there is floor competition, we will continue to bid on your behalf up to your top bid of $1000. If there is no floor competition, you purchase the lot for $725.
