Chris was raised in San Diego, CA and started collecting stamps at the age of eight. His collection included Australia, Australian States, Scandinavia and worldwide stamps. After attending the University of California in San Diego, Chris began his career in 1984 as the owner of his own stamp wholesale and retail business. Over the years, Chris has worked for several stamp auction firms and is now a highly regarded professional philatelist, describing, lotting, and appraising stamps. Chris joined Shreves Galleries in 1996 as a philatelist and is an expert consultant to The Philatelic Foundation in New York. Chris enjoys playing bridge in his spare time. Chris is also a member of the American Philatelic Society. In his spare time, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife, Robin, and six frisky cats.
